Eighty-five.

Snow Day.

We were surrounded by white powder!
Kate thought she was in the north pole.
She insisted that Santa was near.
She loves [to visit] the snow.

Her clothing included:
jeans lined with fleece
sweat pants
a long sleeved turtleneck
a navy blue flower hoodie
a white beanie
a pink snow coat
a pair of white socks
a pair of striped valentines socks
princess snow boots
mittens

Eighty-four.

Board-ing.

Friday was spent snowboarding.
The weather was perfectly sunny.
The boys plus sandy had a great time.
The little girlies and i stayed warm indoors.
Sledding was on the agenda.
The boys came back and we geared up,
but kate passed out on the floor before we could even get out the door.
Oh well, next time for sure!

Eighty-three.

Weather

All i've been talking about lately is the weather...
We left the warmth of Las Vegas to vacation in snowy Brianhead, Utah.
This is our view from my in-laws condo.

Eighty-two.

Winter.

I grew up in the flats of Miami and New Orleans.
No mountains or hills. [actually below sea level]
And absolutely No snow.
These are the winters i enjoy to live in.

Las Vegas has a bit of both...
A little mountainous and hilly...
and a snow-cap here and there.

I must say, i love livin' in Las Vegas.

Broadway [The Lion King]

Saw this on Monday night.
It. was. A-MA-ZING!
Everything about it was breathtaking.
The costumes, the makeup, the singing, the dancing, the dialog, the songs, the set, oh the set!
I can't say enough about this show.
You need to see it... [Locals: call NOW for a great locals deal!]
I want to go back and see it again.
La-La-La-LOVED it!

i heart faces.

Took the girls to the park yesterday.
While i was there i snapped this photo.

I love it.
I love her face.
I love her double chin.
I love her frizzy hair.

She was completely content.
Thought this would be prefect for the challenge.

Luv it.

A [Vegas] local favorite.
When i was pregnant with Kate, i frequented this hot spot more than once a week.
My mouth waters even if i hear the words 'banana fudge crumble.'
If you haven't been here and you're a local, go there today!
If you ever visit or are just passing through the wonderful city of Las Vegas make this quick stop, i promise you will absolutely LUV IT!

p.s. that's my sweet hubby in line getting me a delicious treat!

Self Portrait.

Well, kind of.
If you know me, then you know i love hair embellishments.
There is hardly a day that goes by that i don't wear some sort of headband, pin, flower, or clip in my hair.
It's kind of my trademark.

This particular flower pin is from here.

Seventy-seven.

Desert.

I love this picture.
It depicts the exact meaning of snow in the desert.
The browns of the plants and sand.
And then a white cover over the rocky mountains.
Paired with a beautiful blue sky and cotton ball clouds.

Seventy-six.

Snow.

Found this lonely left over on a ride up the mountains.
There was a few little piles of snow still left on the ground as well.
But this was the last of it on branches or bushes.
The rest of it sits high on a mountain top where the temps probably still in the teens or below.

Seventy-five.

Still Raining.
Still loving it.

Kate loves to play outside.
But, a couple days ago she decided to jump off the stairs.
Which resulted in hurting her foot.
Took her to get x-rays, and they came back fine.
She must have just bruised it or sprained it?
So we are even more glad that it's raining because it doesn't tempt her to go outside.

Hope she gets better soon.

Rainy Days.

In New Orleans we got rain pretty much every day.
Not all day, but everyday.
Not sure i appreciated it then.

In Las Vegas we get rain maybe 5 times a year.
This week it's been an everyday occurrence.
I'm absolutely loving it.

The smell,
the dew drops,
the pitter-patter on the roof.

Oh the memories of a rainy NOLA.
A few more days of this fun weather.

Bowling.

I adore this photo.
It was taken with my phone.
Daniel was trying to help Kate.
She politely declined and insisted she do it on her own.
She is getting too big.
How do i slow this down?

Bowling Shoes.

We usually go to Red Rock Lanes to bowl.
Red rock does not have shoes for toddlers.
This day we went to the Orleans.
They have shoes of all sizes, as small as a toddler size 6.
It was so cute to see Kate in her little bowling shoes.
She loves to bowl.

Cousins.

They came to visit this weekend.
They are always fun to have around.

Silhouettes.

I've always been a fan of these.
I'm made a couple for friends and family.
Finally got around to making them for my little family.

Paint.

Kate, Lucy and I helped some friends paint today.
Well, Lucy just sat and gave encouragement by smiling.
Kate was a great help!

Photoshop.

I would really like to take a photoshop class.
Everything i know is self taught.
I'm not quite sure the way i do things is the fastest or most efficient way.
I've been google-ing more tutorials and trying to get better.

Anyone had experience with a photoshop class...
is it worth it...
or should i keep teaching myself?
What do you think?

Dolls.

We have alot of them.
Such is life, being a mom of two girls.

But this doll is special.
Homemade by daniel's cousin, Katie.
She is very talented!
A gift for Lucy...
i've been trying to keep it hidden until Lucy gets a bit older.
But i am obsessed with showing everyone who comes over.

How could you not love this?
The darling fabrics,
The hand painted face.
The the little heart.

Kate asked to play with it today.
And i could not resist telling her no.
She's been carrying it around all morning.

The sun.

This morning we were awaken by an excited two year old running into our room and exclaimed:
"the sun is up, the sun is up!"

I wish i could wake up with such enthusiasm.

Kate, thank you for being so excited about the sun!

A toy.

Toolbox to be exact.
That hammer is currently being used in all aspects of our house.
If it's not broken it still gets fixed.
If it is broken, it gets a little more attention.
Who new these could bring so much joy to my two year old girl.

A Gift.

One of the best gifts i've ever received.
So thoughtful and sweet.
From my wonderful husband whom i adore!
It's picture is a mother and her daughter.
It's name is 'Someone to look up to.'

One i will truly cherish.

Picked up this fun decor item at a garage sale in Lehi, Utah a couple years ago.
It has been used by many.
A favorite item among kate's friends.

We have a bowl full of quarters.

Picasso.

Painting is usually in our daily routine.
To an untrained eye, her painting masterpieces look like a big colorful mess.
To her, on this day, it was a wall.
I like to see it as she sees it.

Eat.

This sits right about the kids table.
I often tell kate to 'eat your...'
Today while she was eating some snacks she offered me some, i politely declined.
She kept forcing it into my face saying, 'eat your snackys mom, eat them, eat them!'
i finally took one to make her happy and pretended to eat it.
Then i snuck it back into the bag while she was turned away.
She immediately turned to me and exclaimed, 'hey, i saw you put it back in here!'

how does she have eyes in back of her head already?!
